Our last full day in Florida was another beautiful day, so we spent the morning sunbathing again. In the afternoon we went to the Everglades Wonder Gardens. It is a zoo/animal rehabilitation center where people donate pets they can no longer take care of and animals that have been injured can come live. If they get better, they are released back into the wild. If not, they can live at the zoo.
It was really fun. We saw turtles, deer, geese, alligators, crocodiles, snakes, raccoons, squirrels, birds, flamingos, fish, etc. Lot of fun pictures, but I am only putting a few up.
My favorite parts were feeding the turtles, watching a cute little otter named Molly being fed and sliding down a slide, feeding the big alligators, and petting the baby alligators.
After the zoo we went back to the hotel for some more time in the sun before packing and heading to sleep.
The next morning we woke up at 5am for our flight home. We finished up our trip with another meal at Waffle House. A perfect way to cap off a very fun and relaxing vacation!
