not dead

So it has been a long while since I posted anything, but let me explain!

After finals last semester I moved back to Des Moines to begin the nursing program at DMACC. I am sad to have left UNI, but I know that it was the best thing for me to do and so I trust that God has many great opportunities for me back at home...

...And it can't be all bad because Manuel was able to move up to Iowa and is now attending Iowa State! This is a good thing. Hopefully he doesn't freeze and become a little Manuel popsicle, though. :)

I started nursing school a few days ago and all seems to be going well. It is pretty busy (even though I am only taking four classes) and I am realizing already that I need to become more disciplined in my studies and not procrastinate so much. I have to be at school (almost a 30 minute drive) at 8am some days and 7:30am on others. With me being used to sleepy-time at 2am or so, this will take some adjustment.

So life seems to be going well except for the fact that I am getting very little time for prayer each day. I wish that I could pray for longer, but as of now I wake up at early and leave soon afterwards, am at school all day, come home in time for dinner, then dishes, then homework, and then bedtime. I suppose I could wake up at five to pray, but seeing as how I usually get to bed at eleven, this would not be good for my schoolwork. I am not trying to make excuses, but I do wish that I had a bit more time. I can't even fit in daily Mass anymore (except for Tuesday and Saturday), which I miss very much.

God will provide.

But I just wanted to take some of my freetime to let you all know that I'm still alive...just in case you were wondering. :)

Hey, thanks for posting on my blog!!

Its cool that your doing nursing, do you believe thats what God wants you to do?

Its a bit harsh you have to get up so early though! An idea for quiet times - you could set aside 10 min before going to bed and pray or read the bible a bit?
Or pray when walking somewhere, or driving (stuck in traffic?) etc - it might work?

I shall be praying for you 2! If you want to pray for my family, please pray that my parents become Christians!! :)

Thanks, Have a good week,

God Bless,

I hope things straighten out for you soon. Perhaps by Lent the way will open up for you to have more quality prayer time (and/or daily Mass).

Oops, that's next week!
